IP Structure
Identify an
Unmet Need
Teams start by finding a niche within the broader Unmet need of the IP. Participants can draw upon the interdisciplinary experience of team members, as well as the advice of mentors and through independent research to find their focus.
Develop a
Solution
Participants must draw upon the skills of their interdisciplinary team to collaboratively work on a solution to their unmet need. This develops over the course of the IP, supported by a series of workshops and talks delivered by local, industry experts.
Pitch to the
Experts
At the end of the IP, teams must pitch their solution to a panel of experts. The judges expect a detailed business proposal, including clinical need, viability, marketing strategy, and much more. Participants will be grilled on any gaps in their plan and offereed feedback on their ideas and pitch.
Go
Beyond
At the end of the programme, all teams will be offered the opportunity to take their ideas beyond the IP. From tailored mentoring to support with taking their idea to market, IP teams will facilitate in linking participants to local opportunities and support that will help individuals and their ideas to flourish.
How Can I Get Involved?
Innovation Programmes are run by MedTech Foundation spokes, which are usually (but not always) affiliated with the local University. Get in contact with your local spoke to find out more about when their IP is running and what it involves.
